Pahinungód UPOU Holds a Webinar on Mindful Snacking

In celebration of nutrition month, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungód University of the Philippines Open University conducted a webinar entitled “Snack with Purpose: Manage your Cravings with Mindful Snacking” on 30 July 2024 via Zoom. 

The educational discussion was facilitated by an invited Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian, Ms. Mary Grace Banal. The event aimed to promote health and nutrition through a better understanding of mindful snacking. As a nutrition coach and educator by profession, Ms. Banal highlighted the concept and application of mindful eating. She also demonstrated a set of practices to exercise mindfulness and mentioned the key elements of a nutritious snack as part of a healthy diet. 

Around 130 participants from different institutions and organizations in the country had attended the said event. Participants were also given an opportunity to ask questions, which Ms. Banal aptly answered. Ms. Jezreel Anne Cometa, a Pahinungod UPOU Staff member, served as host and moderator of the online event. The recorded session of the webinar will be made available soon on the Pahinungód Mental Health Wellness website and mobile application Kalinga at Yakap (KaYa) App.

📸 IN PHOTOS | Project LAKBAY Day 2 continues, rain or shine!Despite the gloomy skies and light drizzle, Project LAKBAY participants still set off on a short walk to the UPOU Forest Arboretum to plant 2 Philippine native species - Saplungan Yakal and Molave. The tree planting activity is a commemorative event during the immersion camp to respond to the urgent call for urgent action in forest ecosystem restoration.By mid-morning, the sun was out just in time for OUgnayan Wednesdays! Participants returned to the UPOU Main Building where Asst. Prof. Tricia Ascan welcomed them, and Engr. Emil Climaco shared how the initiative began.
