The University of the Philippines (UP) System conducted the 2026 UP External Quality Reviewers (EQR) Recalibration Meeting on 10 June 2026, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 NN at the Atencio-Libunao Hall, UP Diliman. The gathering brought together External Quality Reviewers from various UP Constituent Universities (CUs) to strengthen alignment and consistency in the conduct of quality assurance reviews across the UP System.

The recalibration meeting served as a platform for participants to revisit quality assurance frameworks, reflect on previous review experiences, and discuss review standards and practices. The program featured Part I: Review of the Previous Recalibration Results, which examined key insights and lessons from earlier recalibration activities, followed by Part II: The Impact of UP External Quality Reviews, which highlighted the contributions of external quality reviews in promoting continuous improvement across academic units. The discussions concluded with a Synthesis session, where participants consolidated key takeaways and identified directions for enhancing future quality assurance initiatives.

Lacaste, aProf. Blancaflor P. Arada, aProf. Tricia C. Ascan, and aProf. Joel L. De Castro. Their participation reaffirmed UPOU’s commitment to advancing a culture of quality and continuous improvement in higher education.

The recalibration meeting served as an important step in strengthening the consistency, credibility, and developmental value of external quality reviews across the UP System. Through a shared understanding of standards and expectations, External Quality Reviewers are better positioned to provide meaningful assessments that inform improvement and support institutional excellence.
