UP Open University and Concentrix Philippines to offer a free Online Course on Introductory Course on Contact Center Services

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Ugnayan ng Pahinungód and Concentrix Philippines will launch the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) titled  Introductory Course on Contact Center Services on 1 May 2021.

This free online course focuses on developing effective online communication skills that will provide competitive skills and knowledge for ICT-enabled and contact services-related jobs. It will also provide participants an overview of the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry covering basic and fundamental knowledge about contact center services.

This online course was developed collaboratively by the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod UPOU volunteers and Concentrix Philippines, a leading global provider of customer experience (CX) solutions and technology and the largest private employer in the Philippines. The Ugnayan ng Pahinungod is the official volunteer service arm of the UPOU that aims to make the university a more caring academic community that is bound together by a commitment to the empowerment of the people and selfless service to the nation

This academe-industry partnership generally aims to provide training programs on ICT-related courses and contact services courses to marginalized sectors of the society, such as persons with disabilities (PWDs), out-of-school youth (OSY), indigenous people (IPs), urban and rural poor, and women groups.

The course is available in the UPOU Massive Open Distance eLearning (MODeL) platform, the official platform for MOOCs of UPOU. To enroll, visit the MODeL website at model.upou.edu.ph

The course was piloted in March 2021, with women groups from rural areas as trainees.
