The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) congratulates another one of its faculty members who are among the list of UP Scientist appointees for the UP Scientific Productivity System 2021-2023.

Dr. Alexander G. Flor, UP Professor Emeritus and former Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Studies has been once again awarded the UP Scientist III title for the period of 2021-2023. He currently serves as the Chair of the Doctor of Communication program and also holds the One UP Professorial Chair in Knowledge Management (KM4D). 

Prof. Flor has produced numerous publications that have been used as the primary resource in the field of Development Communication, Environmental Communication, and ICT4D, among others.  His latest book, “Information and Communication Technologies for Development: Global Perspectives, Asian Initiatives”, serves as a comprehensive textbook and teaching reference on information and communication technology for development. A true academic, scholar, and master of his field, Dr. Flor has been recognized as a member of the New York Academy of Sciences, American Association for the Advancement of Science, East-West Center Association, and the National Research Council of the Philippines.

Another UPOU faculty member that received the same prestigious recognition is Dr. Sheila R. Bonito, faculty member of the Faculty of Management and Development Studies and current Dean of the UP College of Nursing. She was also awarded the UP Scientist III title for the UP Scientific Productivity System 2021-2023.
