UPOU's Faculty of Education to offer free online bridge courses in Math, English, and Online Learning Skills.The Faculty of Education (FEd) of the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) is offering free online bridge courses in Math, English, and Online Learning Skills as FEd's contribution to UPOU's 20th anniversary celebrations in 2015.
The free online bridge courses, which will run for 4-5 weeks, will open on 14 March 2015. This course opening falls on Open Education Week 2015, which is organized by the Open Education Consortium to celebrate the global open education movement.
The online bridge courses are:
Bridge Math @UPOU
A four-week course to improve the participants' foundation skills in Mathematics
Bridge English @UPOU
A four-week course to review writing mechanics and grammar in English to prepare for English Communication at the college level
Online Learning Skills @UPOU
A five-week course focusing on developing study skills for effective online learning in a distance education context
The online bridge courses are offered initially to applicants to UPOU's undergraduate programs in 2014 and 2015. The courses will be offered to the general public in subsequent offerings. (AKMarcial)
