The UPOU Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) held the 3rd Episode of LET’S TALK IT OVER Usapang Mapa at Kapaligiran: A Discussion Series on Urban Planning, Environmental Management, and Sustainability on 16 December 2024 featuring Dr. Cristino Tiburan Jr. and Asst. Prof. Milbren Bragais.

Dr. Joane Serrano, Dean of FMDS, opened the program and welcomed the guest speakers. She emphasized the importance of understanding these technologies in understanding our environment, anticipating challenges that may be brought by disasters, and designing appropriate solutions.

Dr. Tiburan is a Professor at the Institute of Renewable Natural Resources, College of Forestry and Natural Resources, UP Los Banos, who talked about Mapping the Future: Trends and Innovations in Geospatial Technologies.

Asst. Prof. Bragais, a faculty member of FMDS, handling courses in the Diploma in Land Use Planning (DLUP) Program, was also one of the featured speakers discussing the 3D Visualization Demo using GIS for Disaster Risk Reduction.

With the high intensity of calamities and increased disaster risks in the country, this LTIO episode served as a valuable platform for knowledge sharing. It encouraged further exploration and application of geospatial technologies in addressing environmental and development challenges.
