A workshop for students and alumni of the Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Studies (BAMS) students and alumni was held on 19-20 October 2018 at Parque Espana Hotel in Muntinlupa City, Alabang. The activity was facilitated in by Assistant Professors Al Francis D. Librero and Diego S. Maranan.

The workshop was held to provide students with a capacity building activity to help them improve their production work, as well as help in the planning and implementation of their special projects. The activity is also a planning session for students with regards sharing of their work and offering of support to the greater UP Open University (UPOU) community under The Digital Collective, a co-creation project initiated by Assistant Prof. Librero.

The Digital Collective aims to release a series of co-created multimedia content such as stock images and audio. A serialized podcast covering student life in UPOU has also been initiated. The project will also be releasing a 10-year retrospective book about the BAMS program, through the eyes of the administration, teachers, as well as the students and alumni.

The workshop has been deemed a success with a number of initiatives stemming out of the main project. These are expected to yield results in the very near future. Follow up seminars and workshops have also been planned to benefit more students. (ADLibrero)
