UPOU Hosts Benchmark Meeting with De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (1)

The UP Open University (UPOU) hosted a benchmark meeting with De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) on 2 July 2024 at the UPOU Headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna. DLS-CSB representatives aimed to benchmark UPOU’s practices in open distance eLearning. The discussion focused on initiatives like Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), UPOU’s Microcredential offerings, Open Educational Resources (OERs), and course development. 

Dr. Primo G. Garcia, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA), led the discussion alongside Dr. Myra C. Almodiel, Director of the Office of Public Affairs (OPA), Asst. Prof. Mari Anjeli Crisanto, Director of the Quality Assurance Office (QAO), and Mr. Lexter Mangubat, Deputy Director for the Educational Media Production (EMP) Unit of the Center for Open and Digital Teaching and Learning (CODTL).

The DLS-CSB delegation included Ms. Vanessa Puente, Director of Center for Faculty Advancement (CFAd); Ms. Jhoanna Tacorda, Head of the CFAd-Instruction Unit; Dr. Isagani Triste, Head of the CFAd-Curriculum Unit; Mr. Rogelio del Cano, Director of Center for Education Technology (CET); Mr. Jenesis Adriano, Head of the CET-Digital Learning Unit; Dr. Jennifer Fabula, Head of the CET-Learning Environment Unit, and Ms. Gina Lyn Hizola, CET.

In line with its mandate under RA 10650, also known as the “Open Distance Learning Law,” and its commitment to Sustainable Development Goals No. 4 (Quality Education) and No. 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), UPOU continues to play a pivotal role in fostering collaboration between various organizations and institutions. These efforts aim to provide accessible and high-quality education to a diverse range of learners, promoting cooperation and shared progress in the educational landscape.
