The OGC webinar on Gender-responsive and Feminist Research proper was attended by over 32 UPOU Faculty and Staff, and more than 200 live stream participants.

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Office of Gender Concerns (OGC) conducted a webinar on Gender-responsive and Feminist Research on 3 June 2021, 2PM to 5PM.

Dr. Nathalie Africa-Verceles, Director for the UP Center for Women’s and Gender Studies, was Resource Person of the webinar. Dr. Africa-Verceles discussed the basics of engendering research, considerations in related literature, methodology, and theoretical frameworks. She also shared her doctoral dissertation  titled “Livelihood practices of women in the informal economy: Forging pathways towards a feminist solidarity economy.“

The webinar aimed to help UPOU faculty, staff and students in developing gender-focused research proposals. It was open to all UPOU faculty, staff, affiliates, lecturers,  students and other interested individuals who will be writing research proposals or currently writing their thesis and dissertations.

The webinar was done via Zoom and was also open to the public via live streaming on the UPOU and OGC Facebook Pages, the UPOU YouTube Channel, and the UPOU Networks Website — which is still available for the public to view through this link: https://networks.upou.edu.ph/gad/.

The University of the Philippines marked Linggo ng Unibersidad with a week of tributes, performances, and ceremonies celebrating the people and principles that continue to shape its legacy. From the opening flag-raising to the culminating Gawad Pangulo, the UP community—students, faculty, staff, alumni, and leaders across the UP System—came together in a collective affirmation of public service.🌾 Watch event highlights here: tinyurl.com/LinggoNgUnibersidad2025In his keynote address, UP President Angelo A. Jimenez reflected on this year’s theme, “Ani at Alay: Paglilingkod at Pasidungog sa Bayan”—a cycle of learning, labor, and offering. “Ani is the harvest of hard work, persistence, and sacrifice. Alay is the offering we make of our talents, our learning, and our lives in the service of the Filipino people.”As UP celebrates 117 years of honor and excellence, Linggo ng Unibersidad becomes more than a commemoration—it is a renewed call to serve with purpose, humility, and imagination.Produced by the UP Media and Public Relations Office (MPRO)#LinggoNgUnibersidad #AniAtAlay #HonorExcellenceService ...
