UP Open University (UPOU) welcomed a group of students from Cornell University at the UPOU Headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna last 23 June 2023. Led by Dr. Manny Reyes, a Research Professor & Agroecological Engineer from the Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab at Kansas State University, the Cornell University delegation consisted of nine students pursuing diverse fields of study, including agriculture and life sciences, engineering, and industrial labor relations. The visit was part of visits to different colleges and centers/agencies in the UP science community.

They were welcomed by UPOU officials, including Dr. Jean A. Slaudadez, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration (OVCFA), Dr. Ricardo T. Bagarinao, Director of the Center for Open and Digital Teaching and Learning (CODTL), Dr. Myra C. Almodiel, Director of the Office of Public Affairs (OPA), and Mr. Lexter J. Mangubat, Deputy Director for CODTL’s Educational Media Production (EMP).

The visit aimed to provide the students from Cornell University with valuable exposure and a deeper understanding of the academic programs offered by UPOU. 

This activity is part of UPOU’s initiative to explore areas of cooperation and linkages with local and international institutions in the areas of student and faculty exchange, joint research, network participation, sharing of educational resources, and other international academic and research activities.
