UP Open University (UPOU) welcomed visitors from West Visayas State University (WVSU) for a benchmarking activity on 12 October 2023 at the UPOU Headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna.

The delegates from WVSU were led by Dr. Ma. Asuncion Christine Dequilla, Vice President for Academic Affairs, along with Dr. Alona Belarga, Director of Instruction; Mrs. Jasmin Vargas, Chief of Finance Division; Mrs. Nieva Valencia, Budget Officer; Dr. Daisy Rosano, Director of Distance Education; Prof. Agustin Divinagracia and Ms. Joanna Jacinth Ferrer, Faculty Members; and their staff Ms. Nicole Lacuesta and Ms. Fenni Rose Tabernilla.

The discussion was facilitated by Dr. Myra Almodiel, Director of the Office of Public Affairs (OPA) , together with Dr. Ricardo Bagarinao, Director of Center for Open and Digital Teaching and Learning (CODTL), Asst. Professor Mari Anjeli Crisanto, Director of Quality Assurance Office (QAO), Mr. Lexter Mangubat, Deputy Director of CODTL Educational Media Production (EMP), Mr. Melvir Nathaniel Paras from ICTDO, and Marinela Hernandez and Anna Mhari Duria from OPA.
The benchmarking activity focused on UPOU’s open and distance eLearning practices.
This initiative is part of UP Open University’s efforts in public service toward the capacity building of open and distance learning teachers and practitioners in compliance with Republic Act No.10650
