Barangay Digital Transformation Hub Continues Computer Distribution in Brgy. Cansuso, Cavinti, Laguna

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS), in partnership with the Provincial Public Employment Services Office (PESO) Laguna and Concentrix Philippines, continued the distribution of donated computers as part of the Barangay Digital Transformation Hub. On 30 August 2024, the computer units were donated to Brgy. Cansuso in Cavinti, Laguna.

FMDS Dean, Dr. Joane Serrano, led the turnover ceremony alongside the representatives from UPOU FMDS and UPOU Information and Communication Technology Development Office (ICTDO). Brgy. Chairman Clement O. Chin, Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman Jaylord Nacion, and other barangay officials of Cansuso were present to receive the computers. The barangay officials expressed their gratitude for the initiative. “Malaking bagay po ito sa aming barangay upang matuto ang ating mga ka-barangay lalo’t higit sa pamamagitan po ng Digital Transformation, marami pong salamat sa inyo at sa inyo mga tulong.” said Brgy. Chairman Chin.

The Barangay Digital Transformation Hub aims to transform and digitize communities by reaching one barangay at a time. In addition to these educational efforts, the Hub will focus on strengthening community resilience and fostering local economic development by connecting residents to job-seeking platforms, such as the Province of Laguna Employment and Information System (PLEIS). This comprehensive approach not only equips communities with essential digital skills but also opens up new opportunities for employment and economic growth.
