
The Los Banos Horticulture Society, Inc. (LBHSI) paid a courtesy visit to UPOU Chancellor Joane V. Serrano last 5 September 2025 at the OC Conference Room.
LBHSI President, Ms. Vernie Valdez-Lucero, led LBHSI Board members in the visit to discuss preparations and exciting new additions to the upcoming 54th Flower and Garden Show, to be held from 3 to 12 October 2025 at the UPOU Community Hub.
This year’s show will highlight a series of activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness and community engagement. Visitors can look forward to:
🌸 Art-Scape: Halamang Sobra, Gawing Obra – Showcasing innovative garden designs by LBHSI members
📚 Info Wall – An area where information materials on various facts curated by LBHSI and other invited institutions will be available for community members and show attendees
🎨 Ha-Laban (Halaman, Laban!): Tabletop Competition – A friendly competition for creative landscape artists from LBHSI and hobbyists at UPOU.
🪴 Plantanong: Libreng Konsultasyon para sa Nayon – This is a one-stop plant consultation clinic open for all community members. LBSHI will take charge of the booth and offer advice and technical know-how on how to care for plants, organic fertilizer, etc.
Through this collaboration, UPOU and LBHSI reaffirm their commitment to providing a vibrant venue for showcasing horticultural expertise and engaging the local community of Los Banos. Present during the meeting are LBHSI Board Members Ms. Wilma Dumayas (Vice President), Ms. Ma. Eleanor Mataverde, Ms. Ruth Olivares and Ms. Rose David.
The 54th Flower and Garden Show is open from 8 AM to 6 PM this coming 3 to 12 October 2025. Tickets will be available at the start of the show.
This initiative supports the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals.
