The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), through the Center for Open and Digital Teaching and Learning (CODTL), extends its congratulations to all course completers of Batch 1, Tier 1 of the microcourse for the UPOU Faculty, REPS, and affiliates.

Participants came from all three Faculties of Study (FoS), and the role distribution differs across units.

Completers earn a digital badge for every microcourse completed. Each badge contains verifiable metadata- such as the issuer, criteria, relevant competencies and supporting evidence. In addition to digital badges, certificates will be issued to recognize successful completion of the Basic Online Course Design and Facilitation microcourse set under the UPOU Faculty Development Program.

For those who have not yet completed the Tier 1 microcourse set, the course sites have been reopened to allow completion of the remaining requirements. For new takers, the schedule for the next Tier 1 offering will be announced soon, providing another opportunity for those who wish to enroll in the succeeding run.

Watch out as well for the upcoming Tier 2 of the microcourse series, which will focus on course development, with hands-on modules in Rapid Instructional Design, learning activities, assessment and interactive H5P.

The multi-tier microcourse program is part of UPOU’s continuing commitment to strengthen faculty competencies in online teaching and course design, ensuring the delivery of high-quality open and distance eLearning (ODeL).
