The University of the Philippines Open University Quality Assurance Office (QAO) conducted the 5th Batch Pre-External Quality Review (Pre-EQR) Orientation for the Program Chairs of the Graduate Certificate in ASEAN Studies (GCAS) and the Diploma in Social Work (DSW) programs on 06 January 2026. The orientation is part of the preparations for the upcoming External Quality Review (EQR) scheduled on 24–26 June 2026.
The session aimed to equip the program chairs with a clear understanding of the EQR process, internal timelines, and the expectations for their Self-Assessment Reports (SARs). Key topics included effective documentation of evidence, aligning program outcomes with quality standards, and addressing common challenges observed in previous review cycles.
The GCAS and DSW Program Chairs, and the QAO Director, together with the QA Project Staff, attend the Pre-EQA Orientation 2026 via Zoom Meeting.
The orientation also provided a platform for program chairs to ask questions, exchange best practices, and discuss strategies to ensure their programs are fully ready for the review. It highlighted the University’s commitment to continuous quality improvement and the maintenance of high academic standards across all programs.
The QAO expressed its appreciation to the Program Chairs for their active engagement: Asst. Prof. Lorena Jean D. Saludadez for GCAS and Dean Finaflor F. Taylan for DSW. Their participation reflects strong leadership and dedication to upholding the University’s quality assurance initiatives.
