Successful UPCAT Applicants to UPOU

Successful UPCAT applicants to UPOU are senior students (i.e. Fourth Year, Grade 12, Senior 6) who have chosen and confirmed to study at UPOU under the BAMS or BES program and have taken and passed the most recent UPCAT.

Confirmation for Enrollment: 6-19 July 2020
Instructions for enrollment confirmation will be emailed to successful applicants. In the meantime, please prepare the following admission requirements:

  1. Original Form 137
  2. Original Form 138
  3. Photocopy of NSO or PSA birth certificate
  4. Two pieces identical 2″ x 2″ and 1″ x 1″ pictures
    *** More requirements will be included in the email ***

Successful UPCAT applicants to UPOU are also required to complete the online Distance Education Readiness Module (DERM). The information about the DERM will be included in the confirmation email.

Issuance of the University Admission Notices: August 2020

Appeals for Admission

The UP Open University is open to appeals for reconsideration to applicants whose UP Predicted Grade (UPG) is 2.800 or better.

Appeals Period  : 20-27 July 2020
Instructions and Requirements :

  1. Accomplish the UPCAT 2020 Appeals for Reconsideration for Admission to UP Open University form; and
  2. Complete the Distance Education Readiness Module (DERM); instructions are included in the form.  (Posted on 19 July 2020)

The 7th AAWS Congress concluded with a closing ceremony. Dr. Sylvia Estrada Claudio, AAWS Council Member, wrapped up the event with a thoughtfully articulated synthesis highlighting the key insights and important points, reflections and challenges from the sessions.An awarding ceremony was also held to recognize outstanding contributions presented during the congress, and named the Best Exhibit, Best Poster, and Best Paper. The Best Community Fair Showcase was awarded to LATCH Los Baños.The Best Poster was given to Loise Anne C. Aquino, Destiny SM. Lutero, Vannessa E. San Juan, Francesca Isabel N. De Vera, Rea Divina C. Mero, and Ellaine Rose A. Beronio for the study entitled "Assessing Gender Mainstreaming at UPLB: The Case of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Physics (IMSP);” The Best Paper (First Place) was given to Irish Joy G. Deocampo and Maritess D. Cruz with the study entitled “You Should Always Be Safe Here: Applying Feminist Care in Reimagining 2 Communication Against Gender-Based Violence in Higher Education;”The Best Paper (2nd Place) to Alice C. Prieto-Carolino with the study entitled “Filipino Women Polychaete Fishers’ Lives from the Lens of Feminist Political Ecology;”The Best Paper (3rd Place) was given to Renalyn C. Figueroa for the study entitled “From Womb To Tomb: The Intersectionality of Women in Jessica Hagedorn’s ‘Dogeaters;”And Best Paper Finalist to Princess Sheryn A. Mamucao for her study “Bangsamoro Women’s Roles in Conflict Resolution in the Bangsamoro Region (BARMM).”Asst. Prof. Maria Lourdes Jarabe, Director of the UPOU Office of Gender Concerns, delivered the closing remarks, emphasizing the conference as a testament to the community’s commitment to advancing gender studies.
