The 50th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines and the upcoming national elections call for historical awareness from our voting populace.

Once again, the University of the Philippines (UP) is set to honor the struggles of the Filipino people under the authoritarian regime and the University’s contributions in the uprising against the Marcos dictatorship through the UP Days of Remembrance.

This year’s UP Days of Remembrance will be a week-long virtual commemoration held from September 20 to 24, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

With the theme “Dambana ng Gunita: Mga Batayang Katotohanan at Aral ng Batas Militar”, the commemoration aims to help expose Martial Law-related disinformation and historical revisionism being propagated in various media platforms.
