The UPOU Faculty of Education will be offering ECED 201 Foundations of Early Childhood Education this coming 1st Trimester AY2023-2024 (October 2023-January 2024). ECED 201 is a 3-unit stand-alone, non-degree course that aims to provide early childhood practitioners with a sound understanding of the historical and theoretical rationale for creating child-centered learning communities. It is offered to all interested applicants who have previously earned a bachelor’s degree.

The Community of Nations and Nation of Communities (CNNC) 2025 Short Course, organized by UPOU-FMDS with support from the Eurasia Foundation, concluded on 2 July 2025. With 11 hybrid sessions, the course brought together professionals, public servants, students, and advocates from across the to explore decentralization, community development, and cross-border cooperation.![]()

A highlight was the Local-to-Local Across Border Scheme (LLABS) group presentations, where interdisciplinary teams developed proposals tackling issues like ecotourism, urban resilience, and international university partnerships. CNNC continues to grow as a community of practice and is being explored as a future microcredential offering of UPOU — supporting lifelong learning, regional collaboration, and the SDGs.![]()
