SEPLS Webinar 6 Living in Harmony with Nature

Revitalizing Socioecological Production Landscapes and Seascapes (SEPLS) Webinar Series is an online activity by Project 1 of the Emerging Interdisciplinary Research (EIDR), Building Climate Smart Communities (bSMART) Program implemented by UP Open University and UP Los Baños. This Webinar aims to raise awareness of the conservation and sustainable use of SEPLS, anchored by the Satoyama-Satoumi principle of “Living in harmony with nature”, through a series of online talks from speakers and experts on sustainable landscapes/seascapes management approaches.

Project 1 of the EIDR bSMART Program invites you to the upcoming webinar on 31 August 2022 (Wednesday) at 10:00 AM  via Zoom. Our guest speaker, Dr. Mario A. Cudiamat of University of the Philippines Los Baños, will talk about “Towards Building Sustainable Community-based Marine Conservation: The Case of Calatagan Mangrove Forest Conservation Park, Batangas”, together with Discussant, Dr. Jess H. Jumawan of the Caraga State University.

📸 IN PHOTOS | Project LAKBAY Day 2 continues, rain or shine!Despite the gloomy skies and light drizzle, Project LAKBAY participants still set off on a short walk to the UPOU Forest Arboretum to plant 2 Philippine native species - Saplungan Yakal and Molave. The tree planting activity is a commemorative event during the immersion camp to respond to the urgent call for urgent action in forest ecosystem restoration.By mid-morning, the sun was out just in time for OUgnayan Wednesdays! Participants returned to the UPOU Main Building where Asst. Prof. Tricia Ascan welcomed them, and Engr. Emil Climaco shared how the initiative began.
