The UP Open University Institutional Research Ethics Committee (UPOU IREC) is inviting all UPOU faculty, REPS, administrative staff, COS, and students to join the first UPOU IREC Orientation on policies and procedures for ethics reviews to be held on on 13 August 2021, 9:00 – 11:00 am (for UPOU students) and 16 August 2021, 1:00 – 3:00 pm (UPOU faculty, REPS, administrative staff, COS) via Zoom.

The UP Open University Institutional Research Ethics Committee (UPOU IREC) ensures that the researches conducted by faculty, REPS, administrative staff, COS, and students of the UPOU community adhere to national and international ethical principles and standards. As per Memorandum No. OVPAA 2020-145, dated 30 November 2020, an ethics review is required of research projects, particularly those involving human subjects.
