The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has been elected as President once again by 24 member-agencies of the Los Baños Science Community Foundation, Inc. (LBSCFI).  Los Baños Science Community Foundation, Inc. (LBSCFI) met for its Second Quarter Steering Committee Meeting at the UP Open University Headquarters in Los Baños, Laguna. Dr. Joane V. Serrano, Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS), University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), and Dr. John Martin, UPOU Visiting Professor from the University of Plymouth, United Kingdom published a journal article titled, “An Exploration of the Contribution of Embodied, Situated Research Strategies to Cultural Ecosystem Services and Landscape Assessment Frameworks: An Environmental Empathy Case Study.” The article was co-authored with Dr. Klara Łucznik, a ColLaboratoire 2020 mentor from the University of Plymouth, and was published on 23 May 2022 in Avant  — an open access and peer-reviewed journal on interdisciplinary studies. University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Chancellor, Dr. Melinda dela Peña Bandalaria joins the kick-off meeting of the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) Global Advocacy Campaign (GAC) for Open, Flexible and Distance Learning (OFDL) Working Groups. Dr. Bandalaria co-chairs the ICDE GAC Asia Task Force with Prof. Dato Dr. Ansary Ahmed, Founder President of the Asia e University (AeU).  The kick-off meeting was held online, via Zoom,  on 27 June 2022. The International Network for Postgraduate Students in the Area of ICT4D (IPID), with its regional chapter IPID-Asia, recently conducted a virtual open session in Information Communication Technologies for Development Conference (ICTD 2022) on 27 June 2022 (PT). On 28 June  2022, the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) team of the Emerging Interdisciplinary Research (EIDR) project titled “Development of a Web-Based Related Learning Experience (RLE) Design as a Resource Activity Material” conducted an ocular visit to Cardinal Santos Medical Center. The project aims to create a virtual simulation by recording a 360-degree view of different clinical setups, simulations, and results based on selected case studies.
