Jose Rizal was born on 19 June 1861 in Calamba, Laguna. Beyond authoring two novels which exposed the colonial oppression of Filipinos, he was also an educator. He established a school in Dapitan where he was exiled by the Spanish colonial government. Rizal believed that education can awaken the youth and lead them to the right direction.![]()
