Webinar #62
July 23, 2021
READY NA BA TAYO? A Conversation on the COVID-19 Delta Variant”
Special Topic

As a follow-up to last week’s episode on “The Delta Variant: What every frontliner should know” – we shift gears and start talking about how the Philippine health care system is preparing for possible spread of the virus as it sweeps through our neighboring countries in the ASEAN: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore – among others.

As developments unfold, there are an increasing number of patients tests that reveal the genetic sequence for the Delta variant of SARSCov2. What is happening in the localities of the Philippines where this is reported? What are hospitals and health facilities doing to protect frontline workers and prepare for a possible surge as the variant is known to be highly contagious? As there is a limited number of genetic sequencing that can be done in the country, what are other ways that frontliners might have a higher index of suspicion about the delta variant?

In this week’s  episode of STOP COVID DEATHS, we continue to explore our response to these new developments through an informal conversation with doctors from around the country on the situation in places where the delta variant has been reported. The webinar will be opened by National Task Force Adviser Ted Herbosa, with participation of Usec. Abdullah Dumama, Jr. of the Department of Health; Former Health Secretary, Dr. Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial; Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital Chief, Dr. Julius Drilon; Head of the PGH Hospital Infection Control Unit, Dr. Regina Berba; Maria Reyna – Xavier University Hospital Director, Dr. Raul Winston Andutan; Northern Mindanao Medical Center Chief, Dr. Jose Chan, Philippine Lung Center Executive Director, Dr. Vincent Balanag, Jr.; and Closing Remarks from the UP Manila Chancellor, Dr. Carmencita Padilla.

Stay informed through your credible on-line community. Join the STOP COVID DEATHS Webinar #62 and invite your colleagues and fellow frontliners to be part of this conversation.

Stay Safe. Stay Healthy. Stay Connected.
